Announcing my new documentary! Doors open at 11:00 a.m. for the noon screening on Sunday, November 15, at The Grand Cinema in Tacoma, followed by an opportunity to hear from filmmaker Jenna Mason and ask both of us questions. Grab your free ticket at www.eventbrite.com!

Rob Riley recently posted on Facebook what I feel is a good description of what I hope the documentary offers. He captured the spirit of the film, saying…

“Matt lives with a disability, something that has been part of his life’s experiences, but certainly doesn’t define everything he’s capable of doing. He’s worked, pursued his interests, and found his own ways to participate in life and the world around him. And through those experiences, he’s come to appreciate something especially meaningful. It’s not simply what we accomplish for ourselves that matters, but the difference we can make in the lives of others.“

Join me at the pre-screening on November 15th. I want all my friends and social media followers to feel welcome to attend and celebrate this premier with me. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and I recommend getting to The Grand Cinema (606 Faucett Avenue, Tacoma) right away to reserve a good seat in case we get the word out enough to attract wider attention. That might happen, especially with people like Michael Driver and Michael Smith doing a 15 minute feature on me and my documentary recently on Seattle News Today …

The screening will roll at 12:00 noon, and filmmaker Jenna Mason will be with me afterwards to answer questions. As Jenna puts it on her Facebook page – “The documentary is about Matt’s life: the many challenges he’s overcome and what’s ahead…. Matt was born with multiple pterygium syndrome, which eventually led to the challenging decision to amputate his legs at age 12….

“He was able to be adopted out of the hospital at a young age with the expectation that he wouldn’t survive long. 34 years later, Matt is living proof that even when odds are against you, you can prove them wrong. His next challenge is to find independent living, a full-time caregiver, and to keep chasing his dreams….

“This documentary gives you a glimpse into his life with the hopes that you leave feeling inspired to not only help support Matt in achieving his dreams but for you to achieve yours too” 🎥
